Our Mandate
Al Rashid Youth Group (RYC) is dedicated to helping Edmonton youth reach for new heights as engaged leaders and citizens through projects and programs that focus on building our communities. With fun, energetic, and engaging activities, we help launch youth who are dedicated to making a difference in their community by working with all Edmontonians to make sustainable change.
Our members come from many regions of the world, and many are newcomers to Canada who need help understanding a new society. Our primary activities develop qualities and skills of citizenship, teamwork and well-balanced individuals in our youth.

Why should youth be involved…
Involving youth in activities is an opportunity for them to connect with peers who share their values and develop lifelong friendships based on their shared faith. Involving them in the decision-making process of the Mosque can empower them and make them feel valued. By actively seeking their input and considering their ideas, we demonstrate that their voices matter, helping them develop a sense of ownership and responsibility toward the Mosque’s growth and success. Mosque activities also help create a supportive network for them, as they navigate the challenges and temptations of the modern world. It offers them a safe space to seek guidance, ask questions, and receive mentorship from knowledgeable individuals within the community.
We want to ensure that our Al Rashid is a vibrant hub for the Muslim youth.
